LET'S TALK ABOUT DIY PC VS PRE-BUILT PC
In my personal
opinion, I always prefer the DIY PC and why? I can customize for my own
preference and budget. By the other side, for business and final user I suggest
a brand or pre-build PC.
Here are some
personal reasons and thoughts from one to another:
DIY PC:
- You ARE the tech support for yourself: if you screw something, you pay it!
- You can choose your own components and of course, it’s going to be more expensive
- You can add/mod how many parts and accessories you want. Sample: cooler system, LED, capacity, case, keyboard and mouse, etc.
- You have to buy individual licences like OEM windows and office, antivirus and others
PRE-BUILT PC:
- Take out of the box and configure in few steps
- You can choose a plan warranty for 2/3 years and the same with the software and can have a coverage plan for parts and accessories
- If you need any tech support, grab the phone and call to help desk; they will send you the new part and replacement with a tech guy on-site
WHY DO I CHOOSE A DIY PC:
I always saw my
friends and buddies with customized PCs and so many features and accessories and
that the reason why I switch to the dark side and I always have been working as
a TIER 2 and as an system administrator. CONCLUSION: I am my own tech
support guy
IN OTHER WORDS….
First, some the
rules of engagement. We’re talking about full-function PCs built either from
components or supplied as turn-key systems ready to roll. Re the latter, the
assumption is that we’re dealing with systems sold by outfits that at least
pretend to understand what enthusiasts and gamers want and need.
SOME TECH WORDS:
- Hard drives
- Optical drives
- Coolers
- PSU (power supply units)
- Video Cards
- Wi-Fi network cards
- Cases and chassis
- Monitors (sometimes)
PIECES AND PARTS CAN’T BE REPLACED FREQUENTLY:
- RAM (add more memory)
- CPU
- Motherboard
Everybody ask why these 3 aren’t possible to replace: easy! These are the CORE parts of a computer function and ONLY can be replaced by damage or bad functionality. And it’s like marriage… until death do us part
On the most cases, we want to buy the better PC and parts, but that can’t be possible. You have to spend a tons of dollars and money and the next 3 months the same pieces cost less and cheaper because technology is always changing and innovating.
Any
suggestions?
